•           Session One: Governance, organization, Patients Rights, QA/PI

•           Session Two:  Surgical services, infection prevention, medical records

•           Session Three: Life Safety Codes and Environment

 

Session One

Topics of Discussion:

•           Governing Body and Management

•           Medical and Clinical Staff Requirements

•           Patient Admission/Assessment & Discharge Standards

•           Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement

*Do you know the consequences of "condition level" citations (what is a condition level citation anyway)?

*We'll be discussing peer review, credentialing and staffing requirements.

*Do you know the requirements for your contracted services?

*Do you follow the approved QA / PI process?  We'll give you several examples as part of your handouts, as well as the forms to put it together.

*Who owns your facility? Have you told your patients this information?

*We will review the required elements of job descriptions and orientation requirements.

*How strong are your Patient Rights forms and your grievance policy? We will cover that.

*How do you properly handle a patient grievance?  We have a policy and follow-up forms for you.

*Examples of Board Minutes will show you the necessary elements, and if you follow our template, you will have a good road map to success.

*What is required for credentialing and how do you go about this exactly?

*How do you handle employee orientation? Do you cover all the key elements and get it all covered in the required timeframe and then tie everything together in an annual evaluation?

*Patient admission and discharge can be tricky (and get you a citation) if you miss any of the stop lights!
