Title: Compliance with Infection Control Standards; CMS & AAAHC

Presenter: Michael Peabody, AAAHC/CMS Surveyor and ASC Administrator

Michael has over 30 years of health care management experience.  After 15 years in various hospital management positions, Michael PeabodyMichael entered the ASC industry in 1997 as administrator of a six operating room freestanding surgery center in Kettering, Ohio.  Johnson & Johnson Ambulatory Surgery Group, now known as Health Inventures, managed this center.  As administrator, he coordinated the construction, opening and management of the facility that eventually averaged over 700 cases per month.

Michael was promoted from ASC administrator to Regional Operations Manager for Johnson & Johnson.  In this role he had national responsibility for the pre-operations development of J & J managed ASC’s.  Over a three-year span he coordinated the opening of 18 ambulatory surgery facilities. In addition, he had Regional Manager responsibility for two ASC’s in California.

Most recently Michael has been consulting with a variety of ASC Development and Management companies.  His most recent project was a de novo surgery center project that opened in Beverly Hills, CA doing general, endoscopy and bariatric cases.

 He joined Surgical Care Affiliates in late 2011 and is the administrator of two centers in Des Moines, IA doing over 900 cases per month.
