Disclaimer:  This membership is intended to run for a 13 month period however can be modified to be shorter or longer depending upon the learning curve of the participant IP. This program is not intended to run over 18 months unless otherwise requested by the facility IP. Facilities having a different specialty may require a different customized agenda.  This program is not a course to certify the IP as a CIC even though taught by a CIC. This course makes no guarantee that the IP will be able to pass the CIC test since the CIC test is based upon infection prevention knowlege in several different healthcare settings outside the ambulatory surgery center such as acute care, long term care, home healthcare, woundcare, etc.   This coursework however will greatly assist the IP to prepare themself if they choose to move in that direction. Our CIC , Director of Infection Prevention can mentor the IP participant as to what they would need to do to pursue the CIC.
